In a crowded subway of a big city, David, a good boy, covered by the hood of his sweatshirt, is ready to blow themselves up.
Before the bomb he investigates and goes in search of the reasons and the causes that led the young man to convert to Islam, to carry the bomb with his friends Karim and Rafiq, respectively, an Italian converted and an Afghan fundamentalist, and to blow themselves up air. A journey within a conversion that tacked to a more radical and fundamentalist belief, a personal and ideological crisis of those who wanted to change the world believing that it was implementing a new Shoah, with Muslims instead of Jews and with the West to play the part of the Nazis.
The ideological framework is very accurate and the propaganda seems to have taken hold of someone like David, thought of wanting to change the world.
How many civilians, men, women and children, are killed every day by US drones? How many innocent Muslims die in vain?
Because of that David, Karim and Rafiq feel they have to do something, they have to help their Muslim brothers in the name of the Ummah, the Islamic nation.
Prima della bomba
comes from a series of questions: What Europeans young find in Islam that they can not find in their culture of origin?
Our conformist Western societies can give a new space to the youth dissent?
Or maybe these young people are forced to seek in distant cultures from the West a vent to their desire to change the world?
It is a show that reflects more than ever on the sense of belonging, on the need to feel involved in something, on young people and cultural and religious differences between East and West.
