Parachuted into Rome in 2004 to work at a bookstore dedicated to the 20th century and its subversions, Bob Junior has been running Circolo Fanfulla for the past 20 years—where, they say, things happen.
At Short Theatre, he’ll share with us a special cassette selection through a DJ set performed using a twin cassette deck, unearthing a range of contemporary productions released exclusively on tape—often hard to find online. The genre shifts from intimate DIY projects to post-punk and minimal synth-punk.
Without fetishizing the medium itself, the cassette is an object with a rare simplicity—in how it’s produced and shared. It can be made at home, erased, endlessly duplicated. It’s almost nothing (small in size), deeply humble (it claims no value), yet it endures.

SALON is an outdoor space for relaxation, listening, unwinding and meeting, which will be haphazardly set up every day at 6.00 p.m. in the open area of “rimessini”, the space formerly used to shelter untamed livestock.
SALON is mainly curated by the bodies that inhabit it, and it will host a different musical programme every night, courtesy of artists and other individuals who agreed to publicly reveal their secret musical obsessions.
