Le repos

Le repos is a sad comedy about grief. Grief is often solitary, perhaps because of the self-censorship imposed by social norms.

Le repos is a collective lament conceived for four performers, an invitation to accompany sadness, to mourn together those who are no longer with us, those we knew and even those we didn’t know. It is a choreographic and performative ritual during which four women experience sadness collectively, without attempting to overcome it. Their paths are a journey to say goodbye to the people who left us, to cope with their loss.

The blue of twilight and the orange of dawn – the beginning and the end of each day – colour the scene, weaving a precise chromatic and sensitive dramaturgy in which we can let ourselves go, searching for calm, openness and connection with the unknown.

Clara Delorme (1997) is a French artist based in Lausanne, Switzerland. As a dancer, she worked with Nicole Seiler, Dalila Belaza, Mark Lorimer and Yasmine Hugonnet, among others. In her projects, she creates monochromatic spaces and the characters inhabiting them. She enjoys using colours one by one, imagining a world and a character for each of them. Through each of her creations, she tries to make room for human behaviours that don’t need a lot of space to shine or be beautiful, such as being weird, obsolete, out of touch or deeply sad. In 2020, she won the PREMIO award for her work Malgrés (green), and in 2022, she was selected for the Swiss Dance Days with L’albâtre (white). In 2023, she received the Label+ Romand for Le repos (blue). She co-founded Arts_sainement, an association that fights against discrimination and abuse in the performing arts, and LIEU COMMUN, a community space for research residencies in Lausanne. In 2024 and 2025, she is an artist in residence at the Swiss Institute in Rome, where she is developing two projects.
