Almeno Nevicasse

Almeno Nevicasse arrived to me in 2018 on a particularly gloomy day. That gloom inside that you can’t name and that you struggle to recognise. It’s a little cry, it’s a “let’s hope something, anything, happens right now at this very moment.” So I took a sweater that I had in my closet and with a coloured thread I embroidered on it “Almeno Nevicasse”. Like many creative processes, the nature of work starts from within, it digs into the brain, it crosses the heart, it touches those areas of the unspoken. —Francesca Sarteanesi

Almeno Nevicasse is a collective dramaturgical practice proposed by Francesca Sarteanesi, in collaboration with Carrozzerie | n.o.t. A workshop directed to a heterogeneous group of people, in which personal stories intertwine with each other and with the practice of embroidery, searching words and sensations that are difficult to stop, or that one has chosen not to express. What has remained latent emerges through embroidery on sweaters, objects that gain a voice, revealing and preserving fragments of experience.
Sunday 18 September Almeno Nevicasse goes beyond the margins of its community and opens up to the gaze of the city in a final moment in which the participants partake with the aim of highlighting the expressive power of the word.
The sweaters, with phrases or words embroidered by the people involved, come out in the open and are worn like on a “runway” – that certainly is not a fashion show – but a scene in motion. Sweaters, like living works, will come to life. They will blend with the urban space to talk.

The project is part of RECIPROCITY, a section of Short Theatre that experiments with models of reciprocity and intersectionality between belonging, widespread origins and knowledge through bodily practices, narrative grafts and playful universes.

The collective dramaturgical practice Almeno Nevicasse will take place from 16 to 18 September at the Carrozzerie | n.o.t .
Info to participate.
