Valesuchi’s sets precisely stitch together bare-bones electro, hard-wearing techno, hazy house, sun-kissed proto-disco and heavenly ambient with the purpose of blending each crowd’s shadow, its expansive aliveness and sometimes its hidden sense of humour. Never a lazy digger, she uses the tools gained in Santiago’s risky gatherings and the lessons learnt at the uncomparable raves she played all over Brazil and she distinctly translates the vast mixture of her timeless and fertile sonic research into a varied list of questions. By choosing people’s bodies as a limitless answer, Valesuchi rides the rhythm, in the middle of the day or in the middle of the night, until there’s not much ice left to melt.
Today, she claims Rio de Janeiro as her home base, a place where techno, funk, desire and danger coexist. On top of contributing tracks to Latin American compilations, making an appearance at CTM in Berlin and debuting her first album, Valesuchi has always been an outspoken advocate for Latin America’s presence at festivals all around the world.
Warm up by Egeeno.
