Stina Fors
Guttural Voices and Other Sounding Bodies
workshop

September 12 | 2:00 — 5:00 pm
September 13 | 10:00 am — 1:00 pm
Teatro India

The workshop is aimed at all those interested in the voice as a means of artistic expression, as a creative tool connected to the viscerality of the body. No previous experience is required.

The mouth is a cavity that serves as the passage for our voice, not only for speaking and singing but also for eating, licking, breathing, and drooling. Guttural Voices and Other Sounding Bodies is a workshop conceived by choreographer and musician Stina Fors, aimed at exploring the boundless potential of the body as a resonating chamber for the voice. Through playful experimentation, participants will expand their expressivity.

In individual and collective exercises driven by movement, the participants will delve into an extended vocal range—from growls to screams, ventriloquism to primal utterances—as they research inventive uses of the body.

The workshop explores the artistic research behind the performance A Mouthful of Tongues, a performance in which Stina Fors explores the voice as detached from the body.

The Short Theatre 2024 workshops are free of charge. To participate, you are required to register by sending an e-mail to shorttheatrefestival@gmail.com, indicating in the subject line the title of the workshop and in the body your name, surname, telephone number and a short introduction. Reservations will be accepted subject to availability.

Deadline for registration: August 28
