SALON is an outdoor space for relaxation, listening, unwinding and meeting, which will be haphazardly set up every day in the open area of the festival.
SALON is mainly curated by the bodies that inhabit it, and it will host a different musical programme every night, courtesy of artists and other individuals who agreed to publicly reveal their secret musical obsessions.
Lola Kola. An eclectic artist, she moved to Rome out of a passion for fashion. Trained in fashion design, illustration and pattern-making, she worked as a designer for companies and fashion houses until 2005, when she found in music and sound the form of expression most attuned to her nature and her curiosity. She sings, dances, performs, makes her own clothes, designs and colours her shows, and has been collecting 45s since she was a teenager. She grew up on the punk of The Clash and Nina Hagen, on techno, gypsy music and the mazurka. Out of a fortuitous encounter with the DJ Hugo Sanchez came TROPICANTESIMO, the night at Fanfulla 5/a where she also performs live, and Acetato, a party played entirely on 45s. Cumbia and gypsy, Indian, Peruvian and Colombian sonorities meet Brazilian bossa nova, the Italian repertoire and punk in an evocative mix, explosive and great fun.
Mirko was born in the heart of Puglia and roots his musical identity in the tropical gardens of eastern Rome. A perpetual student, entranced by the sounds, rhythms and soundscapes of the Mediterranean, he tests their crossings in HabibiAlo. He believes in the transformative power of Sound, capable of welcoming and bringing together cultures, dances and bodies. Choreographer of u-kabarett and lead dancer at TROPICANTESIMO, at Acetato he selects the foundations of his own musical heritage — hip hop, funk and soul, punk, folk and Arabic sonorities — to give life to a therapeutic, unstoppable way of dancing.
