CLASSE is a project of transmission, compromise, blending and mixing, invented pedagogies and radical imagination. CLASSE is a space for words and thoughts that combines a public programme with the creation of an ongoing working group, moving through the Short Theatre 2026’s programme and beyond.
Every day for 10 days, artists, poets, activists, philosophers and researchers are invited to give a short talk starting from a specific word / issue / practice. Discover all the other appointments that constitute the public programme of CLASSE.

In the current dark times, of neoliberal authoritarianism, imperialist war, genocide and climate devastation, how do we make art a battlefield for liberation, abolition and justice? How do we escape the pitfalls of art as pacification, of art as erasing asymetrical position?
Françoise Vergès is a political theorist, curator and writer She writes on the racist fabrication of premature death, decolonial feminism, the impossible decolonization of the western museum, climate disaster and antiracist, anticapitalist politics of vital needs. She works with artists and curates, since 2015, public performances with artists and activists. For the 2025 Bannister Fletcher Fellowship, she organized workshops on “Imagining the Post-Museum,” with the Whitechapel Gallery, Mosaic Room and the Sarah Parker Remond Center for the Study of Racism and Racialization at UCL, London, and Cité internationale des arts and ULIP in Paris. She is currently working on a film about anti colonial struggles in Reunion Island through her parents’ personal archives and her own. She is editorial consultant for choreographer Benjamin Millepied’s Paris Dance Project, seats on the scientific council of Fondation pour la mémoire de l’esclavage.
