CLASSE is a project of transmission, compromise, blending and mixing, invented pedagogies and radical imagination. CLASSE is a space for words and thoughts that combines a public programme with the creation of an ongoing working group, moving through the Short Theatre 2026’s programme and beyond.
Every day for 10 days, artists, poets, activists, philosophers and researchers are invited to give a short talk starting from a specific word / issue / practice. Discover all the other appointments that constitute the public programme of CLASSE.

Carlotta Cossutta is a researcher in political philosophy. She works on the history of women’s political thought and studies and practises feminist and queer philosophies, with particular attention to spaces and their entanglements with bodies. She recently edited and translated Mary Wollstonecraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, with whom she has spent a long time in conversation.
Claudia Durastanti is a writer, translator from English and cultural critic. Her latest novel is Missitalia (Premio Mondello 2024, La nave di Teseo). She curates the feminist imprint La tartaruga and has a music column in Internazionale. Her books are translated in 25 countries and she has written, among others, for Granta, Apartamento and the Paris Review. On 1 September Falsi amici. Qualcosa che ho imparato su amore, violenza e altre sfumature del potere is published, her first collection of non-fiction (La nave di Teseo).
Giulia Paganelli is an anthropologist who has worked for over 15 years on the ethnography of the body, discursive practices and Power. Moving from witches and monsters through contemporary non-conformities (fat bodies and fatphobic discrimination) to digital disembodiment, she traverses and analyses narratives, representations and stereotypes. She writes about Bodies and Literature on Bolena, her Substack newsletter, in specialist journals and on the Instagram profile @evastaizitta. For Sperling she has published Corpi Ribelli — Storie umane di Rivoluzione, for Einaudi Maleficae — i corpi avvelenati and for Storytel the podcast Herbariae, streghe dell’anima mia. On 14 October her first novel will be published by Edizioni E/O. Her next essay will be published by Bollati Boringhieri in 2027.
Maddalena Fragnito is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Leuphana Institute for Advanced Studies. She is a researcher in the field of cultural studies. Her research sits at the intersection of feminist theory, postcolonial studies and political ecology, and investigates the relationship between violence and social reproduction in the context of contemporary transformations of capitalism, the rise of new forms of authoritarianism and the growing privatisation of the conditions of life. Her work combines conjunctural and visual analysis, militant research and collaborative practices to explore the relations between abandonment, censorship, institutional complicity and practices of resistance, both in the field of care work and in that of artistic and cultural production. She collaborates with the Institute of Radical Imagination and with various transnational networks of research and activism. Her most recent publication is the volume Spermopolitica. Genocidio riproduttivo e resistenza in Palestina, co-edited with Elisa Bosisio and Federica Timeto (Prospero Editore, 2025).
Nina Ferrante. Terrona, feminist and lesbian. She currently accompanies the trajectory of la Candidate Sans-Papier, a cross-border alliance of immigrant women and their accomplices, building a front of care and resistance against the current fascist policies of the European Union. She has put writing to work as a practice of emancipation and research as a political practice within artistic and collective projects. She is a contract lecturer in Teorie Queer e Studi Culturali at Iuav and of the module An/archivi Queer at the Master Studi e Politiche di Genere Roma Tre.
Viola Lo Moro, lesbofeminist and poet, is a member of the women’s bookshop in Rome, Tuba. She has published two collections of poetry, Cuore Allegro and Luoghi Amati (Giulio Perrone editore, 2020–2022). Two previously unpublished poems appeared in the anthology Incantamenti (Vydia editore, 2023). She has been translated into Catalan, Polish, Greek and French. She is part of the collective ____GSV with illustrator Michela Rossi (Sonno) and composer Flavio Michele (Grosso Bernardo), with whom she researches and performs sonic/poetic/visual objects. She curates LE CAMPANE, a workshop of individual and collective memory through poetic reading, together with Alma Spina. For four years she has curated the literary dialogues of the theatre season at Spazio Kor in Asti.
