Serra Tropicale – Monsoon

Fedra Morini, Ilenia Romano, Lemmo, Michael Incarbone, Rhuena Bracci

We would like the audience to access the space of the Serra Tropicale (the Tropical Greenhouse) — remote, beautiful and humid — in small groups, moving through it along a path already present in situ, one that returns them to the outside after a few minutes. In this way, what can be glimpsed inside will not be a closed performance, but an atmospheric suggestion dense with ungraspable information: a fleeting glance at a series of displaced activities, bodily ceremonies and mysterious articulations that seem to ignore one another, scattered as they are among the cascade of plants.
We entrust these migrations of meaning and physical meteorologies to the appearance of singular bodies, which we ardently wish to be part of the fabric of the festival, beyond any individual signature.

Fedra Morini is a performer, dancer and writer. After studying Classics, she completed a master’s degree in Theatre and Performing Arts at Università Iuav di Venezia and trained professionally in dance at Da.Re. Dance Research, directed by Adriana Borriello. As a teenager she took part in the theatre project “Non-Scuola” by Teatro delle Albe in the outskirts of Milan. She made her debut as a performer alongside Silvia Calderoni and Ilenia Caleo in KISS in 2018, as part of Biennale Teatro. Since 2021 she has been working with them again on The Present Is Not Enough, presented in numerous festivals. In 2024 she took part in Performissima with a site-specific version of the same work. That same year she began a collaboration with Alexia Sarantopoulou on the performance Άνοιξη / Άnixi. In 2025 she took part in Ligia Lewis’s solo exhibition at Gropius Bau in Berlin, performing in Studies Now Steady. In 2026 she was artist in residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, supported by a grant from the Italian Cultural Institute. Her project Succhiotti e pezzi di cuore will be presented in Paris at Performissima 2026. She lives in Rome.

Ilenia Romano is a dancer-performer, choreographer and teacher, graduating with honours from the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome, with training ranging from classical technique to contemporary dance languages to internal martial arts. As a performer with La Compagnia dell’AND, she worked alongside Pina Bausch, Cristiana Morganti, Jacopo Godani, Wayne McGregor and Ismael Ivo. She went on to dance with Les gens d’Uterpan, Micha Van Hoecke and DEOS/Giovanni Di Cicco, and worked as a dancer and assistant for Compagnia Zappalà Danza, ALDES/Roberto Castello and Adriana Borriello. From 2015 to 2019 she was associate choreographer at Scenario Pubblico/CZD CRID. Her choreographic work and research practice have been hosted in national and international contexts. She has created works for Giovane Compagnia Zappalà Danza, Teatro Stabile di Catania and Teatro Nazionale di Genova. Since 2023 she has collaborated with Roberta Nicolai and Teatri di Vetro on projects concerning dramaturgy and transmission. In 2024 she was choreographer for Resid’AND. Since 2023 she has been an artist produced by PinDoc. In her research, the body — in the physical and energetic concreteness of (rel)action-form — generates meaning and imagery, in possible relations with sound-matter.

Lemmo works in the fields of composition and experimental electronic music. They are currently pursuing a PhD at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin, with a project centred on the concept of “sound parasite”. Their practice combines sound research in multidisciplinary contexts – particularly as a composer for dance, theatre and poetry – and weaves musical exploration with theoretical and social themes. In recent years, they have collaborated with various artists, including Chiara Bersani, Margherita Morgantin, Mariangela Gualtieri and Cesare Ronconi (Teatro Valdoca), Lucia Palladino and DOM.

Michael Incarbone is a multidisciplinary artist, dancer and choreographer who graduated with honours from the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome. He has worked as a performer for a number of leading companies, including Virgilio Sieni, ALDES/Roberto Castello, Kinkaleri, Adriana Borriello and the collective Polisonum. An artist associated with PinDoc, he creates choreographic and performative projects hosted in national and international festivals, including fin che ci trema il cuore, FALLEN ANGELS, we are who we are and Draunara.

Rhuena Bracci is a dancer/choreographer. She began her training as a gymnast at the age of 5, taking part in national and international competitions. She trained as a dancer with, among others, Monica Francia and Michele Di Stefano. From 1999 to 2004 she was part of the Monica Francia company. From 2001 to 2004 she worked with Teatro Valdoca. In 2005 she performed in mk’s Real Madrid, choreographed by Michele Di Stefano. In 2024 she qualified as a Yoga teacher with “I vasi comunicanti”, a school of advanced training and research founded and directed by dancer, choreographer and teacher Francesca Proia. Co-founder of Nanou: an artistic entity and production company founded in 2004 together with Marco Valerio Amico and Roberto Rettura, conceived as a place where body, sound and word build a shared choreographic language, giving rise to organic works.
