Serenata Lesbica is, in every sense, a serenade, activated by mixing the artistic signs of Sara Leghissa & Taquitojocoque. Through the decomposition and recomposition of song texts and musical scores from the Mexican and Chilean popular and contemporary tradition — sent by Roxana to Sara after their meeting in Mexico City in October 2024 — this public call transforms into a choral moment in which the contents of the songs form a message that encourages antiracist lesbianism. Movement after movement, the Serenata composes itself, summoning the presence of bodies in the construction of a collective political and romantic dimension.
Both artists will occupy the festival outside the programme and outside format, in two “residential” modes: Taquitojocoque is the artist who offered their own sign as raw material for the visual identity of ST26; Sara Leghissa will inhabit the spaces of the Pelanda for several days in the residential and collective format Frocy Express.
Sara Leghissa is an independent artist based in Milan. Their practice takes place primarily in public space. Through a principle of resource ecology, they make use as much as possible of what is already available in reality. They create systems and devices that seek to blend into and merge with context, in order to convey images and content and to encounter and intercept different publics, through the use of accessible and everyday technologies. They co-founded the artistic project Strasse and have collaborated with various independent artists and collectives. They have presented their work in Italian and international contexts and festivals, including Santarcangelo Festival (IT), Triennale Teatro dell’Arte (IT), Short Theatre (IT), far Festival (CH), Festival Parallele (FR), Saal Biennal (EE), Beursschouwburg (BE), Malta Biennale Arte (MT). For the Italian scene they co-organised Nobodys Business, an independent platform for the exchange of practices in performing arts; NESSUNO, a space for generating community and resistance through the practice of the party; and Sauna Never Dry, a wooden room containing the equipment to produce dry air at high temperature, which becomes a device for encounter and the construction of collective practices. Roxana Ramos García, known as Taquitojocoque, is a Mexican artist and illustrator born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. With a career spanning 17 years, she has dedicated herself to an artistic practice that blends different techniques, fusing pop culture with Mexican cultural heritage. She describes her career as “accidental and sincere”. In 2008 she was invited to create a 12-meter mural at the Centro Cultural de España, marking her first paid work as an illustrator. Since then, her art has developed across galleries, museums and cultural institutions in Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Spain and France. Driven by a creative impulse and a desire to integrate art into everyday life, Taquitojocoque experiments with different techniques — from drawing to sculpture, ceramics and street art interventions. Her work is distinguished by its free perspective and spontaneity, deployed to reflect on and critique modern society.
