CLASSE is a project of transmission, compromise, blending and mixing, invented pedagogies and radical imagination. CLASSE is a space for words and thoughts that combines a public programme with the creation of an ongoing working group, moving through the Short Theatre 2026’s programme and beyond.
Every day for 10 days, artists, poets, activists, philosophers and researchers are invited to give a short talk starting from a specific word / issue / practice. Discover all the other appointments that constitute the public programme of CLASSE.

Adelita Husni Bey & Sara Alberani e le ecologie del sommerso is the CLASSE with artist Adelita Husni Bey and curator Sara Alberani (LOCALES), dedicated to exploring the concept of the submerged as a material, ecological and political condition.
Taking the screening of Husni Bey’s film Like a Flood as its starting point, the conversation addresses the legacy of colonialism and the power relations that continue to structure the present, opening a reflection on the concept of adaptability, on water infrastructures in relation to extractive ones, and on how the submerged can speak of what remains invisible or is deliberately hidden, removed — but also of what persists in potency, refusing to be extracted.
Adelita Husni Bey and LOCALES are also present at Short Theatre 2026 with the screening Like a Flood, also on 10 September at the Pelanda, before the CLASSE.
Adelita Husni Bey is an artist and pedagogue invested in anarcho-collectivism, theatre, and critical legal studies. She organizes workshops and produces publications, broadcasts, and exhibition work using non-competitive pedagogical models through the framework of contemporary art. She has participated in Work it Out!, Aalborg Museum, 2021; Trainings for the Not Yet, BAK, Utrecht, 2020; Being: New Photography, Museum of Modern Art, New York, 2018; Dreamlands, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, 2016; The Eighth Climate, 11th Gwangju Biennale, 2015. She was a Fellow at the Vera List Center for Art and Politics 2020-2022 where she developed These Conditions, 2022 at Brooklyn Army Terminal, New York, a hybrid space between exhibition venue, film set, and pedagogical space.
Sara Alberani is an independent curator and cultural organiser based in Rome. Her curatorial research takes shape through socially engaged artistic practices involving communities and public space, focusing on class struggle and on social and climate justice through long-term projects. Since 2020 she has co-directed LOCALES, a curatorial platform for the production of site-specific interventions and decolonial practices in the public space of Rome. She is the recipient of the Tentacular Fellowship 2026/27 at TBA21/Ocean Space in Venice. She was part of Trampoline House, the community of asylum seekers and activists in Copenhagen, co-curating the collective’s participation in documenta fifteen, Kassel, 2022. Her projects have been presented at numerous institutions, among them documenta, La Biennale di Venezia, Manifesta, de Appel Amsterdam, Centro Pecci, Romaeuropa Festival, Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Museo delle Civiltà, Istituto Svizzero di Roma, MANN, Museo Nazionale Romano, Real Academia de España en Roma, La Virreina Centre de l’Imatge and Short Theatre. She has published with NERO Editions (Rome), lumbung books, Open Editions (London), the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, and with the DAI – Dutch Art Institute in partnership with de Appel Amsterdam and SAVVY Contemporary, Berlin. Her current curatorial research investigates the impacts of extractivism and capitalism on water ecosystems in her home region, Emilia-Romagna, particularly in the light of the floods of 2023–2024, conceiving bodies of water as political subjects of insurgency and resistance.
LOCALES is a curatorial platform founded in Rome in 2020 that aims to inspire a reflection on the public sphere through artistic practices. Through a series of site-specific programs involving commissions of new artworks, explorations of public spaces, educational activities, and performances, LOCALES addresses the complexity of contemporary urgencies starting from the political and social history of symbolic places in the city and their local communities. The current LOCALES team is composed of Sara Alberani, Chiara Siravo, Marta Federici, Chiara Pagano, Giulia Caruso, Alice Albanese Ginammi.
